Ready for you to mat. 1884 Robert Walker Macbeth, Glasgow, 1848 - London, 1910. Scottish painter, and illustrator for  the Graphic. Member of the Royal Academy, Royal Watercolour Society, Royal Engravers. His etched work may be found in the collection of the British Museum. Paintings and works of art were often etched in order to create an acceptable reproduction to bind in a book and share with the global art market at the turn of the last century and before, either indicating a work for sale or an up and coming artist.
